Very complex and technically well done piece by the Palekh master V. Vlesko (so many times mentioned in Maxym Lucy books) ordered by collector and real enthusiast of Russian Lacquer Art from the Netherlands. He was interested in high quality copy of N.Zinoviev (1888-1979) work with the same theme from the collection of the Palekh State Museum of Art (V.Kotov. 'The State Museum of Palekh Art", Isobrazitelnoye Iskusstvo publishers, Moscow, 1975. "Hunchbacked Horse", 1967 casket, 26.8x19.5, catalogue N74) and we suggested the real master V.Vlesko. Vladimir done very good job, he kept main composition of the original piece and introduced his own bright palette of colors to emphasize the joy of the people staying around the Ivan.
