Natalia Kurkina (Shemarova) "The Snowmaiden", 2002, box,
14x17x4, 9art.
An art collector from the Netherlands was interested in ordering the
middle-sized piece
with "The Snowmaiden" theme on, painted by young Palekh artist Natalia
Kurkina. That
was a very knowledgeable, wise choice, though she is only 28, she has
participated in
many specialized exhibitions and has already shown her own talented
interpretations of
quite well spread themes as "Snowmaiden". Professor L.Pirogova declares that
works of
A.Kochupalov, saturated with allegories and symbols influenced her a lot. It
could be
seen on that marvelous piece as well. Look at the fantastic gold work and
nearly
designer's costume of Snowmaiden and alive flowers around her - the real
fountain of
colors.
